I want my work to draw you in and make you curious enough to explore it more deeply. I love to layer colors and mix textures; I gravitate toward organic forms and mix spirals with straight lines. My art falls somewhere between a print and a painting. They are monoprints; each one is a single-edition print made with cotton paper applied to layers of paint on a single plate. It is hand-pulled to create a unique piece of art. As the print slowly lifts it reveals a combination of patterns and layers that create depth and mystery.
My process is about exploration, learning, and following my intuitive voice.
As a Tucson resident since 1987, the wide-open space and light of the desert creates an urge to be as open as the never-ending sky and to take in all the colors, shapes, and textures with all their brilliance and subtleties. I create because it makes me joyful and more curious about the world around me.
